Pièce présentée à Mutek 2021 [Argentine et Espagne]
Un modèle d’apprentissage machine entraîné pour contrôler mes synthétiseurs tentent de reproduire des sons, qui sont ensuite ajoutés aux couches initiales de la pièce.
L’amalgame co-créatif combine synthèse modulaire, voix de synthèse, cloches et foley.

Pendulum (2019)
Mimi Allard and Gabriel Lavoie Viau



The Pendulum module is a sonification proposal of the physical phenomenon of pendulum waves. Its interface allows it to be played as a autogenerative instrument or in a live context. Its first version was created for a 6-channel performance at Sporobole artist center.
In order to avoid the complexity of signal mapping to external instruments (requiring 1 instrument per pendulum), the sounds in this version were generated in Max. It is however possible to use the pendulum module as a controler, when connected to external synths.

SOUND EXPERIMENTS



Study I  / Bio synth






This bio synth study was inspired by the grooves patterns of a tree leaf.  
It is the result of the interpretation the leafe’s “organic score", where the left/right grooves were compiled and translated into intervals, then played by a just intonation synth.
